CALVARY’S MISSION

Calvary exists to lead people to a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. This mission guides each ministry and every decision made at Calvary to ensure that we are being faithful to the call that God has for us as a church. We are passionate about seeing people's lives changed because of a face-to-face encounter with Jesus Christ.

Calvary is one church with locations in Lake Havasu City and Parker, Arizona as well as Online.

Calvary started in 1972 on the far south end of Lake Havasu. The church served as an outpost in an otherwise undeveloped area of town at that time. In 1992, Chad Garrison was called to be the new pastor of Calvary. Under his leadership, the original campus on McCulloch went through several remodels and building additions.

In 2001, Calvary Christian Academy (CCA) was born out of a desire to reach the next generation with quality Christian education. Calvary Christian Academy now instructs nearly 300 students from pre-k to 8th grade.

In 2003, the Sweetwater property was purchased with the plans for future expansion and growth. In 2014, construction began on the Sweetwater property and the new Sweetwater Campus opened in May of 2016 and is now the primary weekend worship space for Calvary.

The mission of Calvary does direct us to continue pursuing opportunities to lead people to a life-changing relationship with Jesus. For that reason, in 2018 Calvary expanded its influence to include a campus in Parker, AZ as well as re-opening our McCulloch Campus for weekend worship. In 2020, we also began an Online Campus to take the message of hope and salvation through Jesus to those outside of northwestern Arizona.

What We believe

Calvary has 5 Essential Belief’s that act as a beginning point of theological definitions. For other matters, we adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000 as a statement of doctrines and beliefs. You can view that here: Baptist Faith and Message

  1. The Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God that tells us what to believe and how to live.

  2. There is one God, revealed in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  3. Jesus Christ came in the flesh born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross to pay for our sins, was raised from the dead, ascended into Heaven and will come again to judge the living and the dead.

  4. All people are sinners and need the grace of God.

  5. Salvation is only through faith in Jesus
