Greeter Coodinator

Summary:  Leads a team of greeters at each service ensuring that entrances to the church are staffed correctly to welcome guests to the service and answer questions as needed. 

Description:  At each worship service or special event where greeters are required, the coordinator will encourage and lead a team of greeters to welcome visitors at the various entrances of the worship service and/or in the main sanctuary.  The coordinator will be informed and disseminate information to the team, train greeters and be an example of a welcoming host to our visitors.  The coordinator ensures that the Connection Center is staffed with a greeter before, during and after the worship service.  In addition, is responsible for managing the timing of opening and closing the main sanctuary doors, picking up after the service (bulletins, water bottles left).  The coordinator works along with the Service Pastor assigned to each worship service.

Skill or experience needed:  

  • Leadership and group management
  • Energetic people person
  • Ability to stand for periods of time. 
  • Great communication skills

Time Commitment: 1 Worship Service per weekend; available ½ hour before the service and approximately 15 minutes after the service. In addition, quarterly greeter meetings, and occasionally time during the week to communicate information to the team.  

GREETER

Summary:   As part of a team of greeters at each worship service, welcome visitors to our church and provide information.

Description:   At each worship service or special event where greeters are required, greeters will focus on visitors by welcoming them, opening doors, providing a bulletin, leading them to a specific location for training or child care and providing information as needed. Assist in clean-up of the sanctuary after each service so that our worship area is ready for the next service and free of left over bulletins or empty water bottles. Greeters work as a team with the Greeter Coordinator as their lead and will communicate with the lead on availability to ensure that we have greeters as needed for each worship service.

Skill or experience needed:  

  • Energetic people person
  • Ability to stand for periods of time. 
  • Ability to work as a part of a team, and take direction
  • Great communication skills

Time Commitment: 1 Worship Service per weekend; available ½ hour before the service and approximately 15 minutes after the service. In addition, quarterly greeter meetings are held for training and team building.
